In a recent report released by U.S. News, South Country Health Alliance received a 2016 Best Medicare Advantage Plan award for our Medicare Advantage plan, SeniorCare Complete (HMO SNP).
SeniorCare Complete received an overall 4.5-Star Rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) earlier this year. The overall rating is a combination of SeniorCare Complete’s Part C 4.5-Star Rating and Part D 5-Star Rating.
“This rating is a direct reflection of the locally-driven programs and services that we provide as a county-based purchasing plan,” said Director of Quality Improvement Anne Grimmius. “It shows the power of when health plans truly partner with counties and other providers to connect members to the care they need.”
CMS rates health plans on a one to five star scale, with five stars representing the highest quality. CMS uses Star Ratings to score and rank Medicare Advantage health plans according to quality of services offered to Medicare beneficiaries.
The Star Ratings reflect information CMS collects from several data sources including member surveys, medical and pharmacy claims, medical record reviews and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Of the 44 quality and performance measures rated by CMS, 18 unique measures of SeniorCare complete received 5-star ratings, including member satisfaction and access to care.
“Our members are the center of our operations,” said Grimmius. “We are always focused on improving the quality of services we provide and the care they receive from providers in their communities.”
Health plan Star Ratings are posted on the Medicare website at www.medicare.gov to assist beneficiaries in selecting an appropriate Medicare Advantage plan.
