South Country Health Alliance honored Dodge County Commissioner David Erickson with the 2016 Diamond Award at the annual dinner and presentation held at the Association of Minnesota Counties Conference in Minneapolis.
The Diamond Award is given for exemplary leadership, passion and commitment to upholding South Country’s values of collaboration, stewardship, communication and excellence.
“Dave has served South Country with dedication, humor and integrity,” said South Country Health Alliance CEO Leota Lind. “With Dave’s retirement, we are losing a wealth of institutional knowledge.”
David Erickson’s retirement will end his more than 15 years serving on the South Country Health Alliance Joint Powers Board. As a founding member, Mr. Erickson was instrumental in helping create the county-based purchasing health plan.
“He was always willing to do whatever was asked of him to represent South Country–even making a trip to Washington D.C. to seek Federal approval for county-based purchasing,” said Lind. “Dave never hesitated to ask questions and share his knowledge to ensure everyone around the table understood the issue. We will greatly miss Dave and wish him the best in retirement.”
The 2015 Diamond Award recipients were Dan Rechtzigel, past Goodhue County Commissioner and Joint Powers Board member from 2011-2015, and Patrick W. Irvine, M.D., past medical director for South Country Health Alliance.
