We want to recognize two of our county directors for receiving a Community Health Award this year from the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH).
Cindy Pederson, Wadena County Public Health director, received the Jim Parker Leadership Award for making significant contributions to public health at both the state and local level.
Mary Heckman, Goodhue County Health and Human Services deputy director, received the Commissioner’s Award for Distinguished Service in Community Health Services for her long-term commitment to community health and contributions to advancing the public health field.
Health Commissioner Dr. Ed Ehlinger presented the awards during the Community Health Conference in September.
